I did 114 miles just driving 101 from Oceanside to Del Mar back and fourth for 4 hours (Julie thought I was nuts!) If you know the road, you know most of it is at 35 mph with some stretches of 50 mph. I drove in eco pro plus with no air on a beautiful summer morning and the spectacular scenery of the pacific ocean out my window. I had 3-4 miles left in the tank when I pugged in smile emoticon
SO....knock me off if you can. Must be real world driving at the same start stop altitude, no fair going on a track and setting the speed at 30mph or driving down hill from the Rockies!
2007 Gem E4, 6000 miles 2008 BMW Mini-E, 38,000 2011 BMW ActiveE , 36,000 2012 Honda Fit EV, 26,000 2014 BMW i3 BEV (his) 16,800 2014 BMW i3 BEV (hers) 30,500 2014 BMW i8 (ours) 16,000 2017 BMNW i3 (hers) 1,000
Challenge accepted. Charged my 2014 BEV i3, got up Thursday morning and reset my trip counter on my way to work. There is not much of a altitude change in Indianapolis, so I didn't cheat driving down a mountain... Did 120.1 miles by Saturday evening. Admittedly, the last 3 miles were done just cruising laps in my neighborhood, but the rest were real world driving. Check out my BMW i App this morning (see photo).
Looks like the Distance driven on one charge is now 124 in the BEV community stats!
I just finished a yet another 142 mile (one-way) trip to take kids to an amusement park. Arrived there with 13 miles of range to spare, courtesy of the REX engine. Recharged while there, drove home, with 7 miles left to spare (75+ on the highway, allegedly).
Match that - BEV-ers!
