Hi Everyone, We've had a few threads about missing gifts and welcome packages. I wanted to address a few things to help alleviate any confusion. - BMWi Owner's Manual Portfolios - They should have been with the vehicle at time of purchase. If you did not receive a document pouch included at purchase, please contact your dealership.
- Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic sample - This was a very limited time campaign item and this campaign has ended.
- Welcome Packages - The two previous items are not part of the welcome packages. Welcome packages have recently started going out for both i3 and i8.
The BMW i3 Welcome Package Contains:
- A welcome letter
- A custom BMW i logo USB Drive
- Online brochure experience - Loaded onto the USB Drive is an i3 brochure experience designed to introduce customer's to their vehicle.
The BMW i8 Welcome Package Contains:
- A welcome letter
- A scale BMW i8 replica matching customer's vehicle color.

I get everything you say here but my dealer looks at me with a blank stare every time I ask about the manual folder. I bought my i3 in July with no pouch. The day I bought mine they took delivery of another i3. In December I bought that i3 for my wife. With a couple weeks after buying that one we recieved a pouch in the mail for HER i3 I purchased in December (it's hers because it came in her name)...where is my pouch for my i3 I bought in July?! All I got was an ugly gigantic Manila envelope! While I don't want to sound ungrateful because I have received some very cool little gifts but I want my pouch.... What do I tell the dealer?

It sounds like then if we leased/purchased from a deadbeat dealership then we just missed out on everything. Not a smart move on the dealerships behalf seeing as leases will be up in a few years and we'll be in the market again.

The dealership should be able to find the part number for the document portfolio. You might be able to show them the one you do have for your second vehicle. If your dealer isn't able to help, please contact us at the iConcierge team and we will get this sorted out for you. The BMW iConcierge is available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., ET. You can contact us by phone at 1-855-236-1025.

Nick, I appreciate your personal effort here, but unfortunately your post here only provides yet another example of how totally in the dark the iConcierge team is about the reality of things.
When you say the manual cover should have been in the car, DUH!!! What you don't seem to know is that for hundreds if not thousands of cars delivered last year it couldn't have been in the car because it hadn't even been produced yet. It wasn't the fault of the dealers that tons of us didn't get the manual cover, it was the fault of BMW. Which is why we all believed the repeated assurances we received from the iConcierge team that we would all receive the cover directly from BMW NA.
Anyway, trusting in spite of past experience that your latest Concierge message about this might finally be accurate, I drove to my dealer today to ask them for my cover. They said they knew nothing about this, but they were very kind and took me online to look through BMW's official i3 parts catalogue with them. There is a part number there for the manual itself (the number varies by the language you want it in), but there was no mention of the cover, no part number for it, and thus no way for a dealer to order it.
Please, please, please -- get us the straight answer on this once and for all.
Thanks.

Had three new i3's over the course of over 12 months and I can tell you, there is no such "pouch" as described by iConcierge. Just a white Owners Manual stuffed in the glovebox. That's the UK delivery experience.

This forum is specifically for the US, we don't have much information for other countries. I'm not sure if a similar part exists for the UK. The UK BMW website has a section on the i vehicles, and can be found at www.bmw.co.uk/en_GB/new-vehicles/bmw-i.html . There is a section at the bottom to chat. Also the contact us link for the UK website has a section for i-vehicles. It can be found at www.bmw.co.uk/en_GB/footer/publications-links/contactus/contact-us.html. I hope one of those two methods will allow you to contact your customer relations team and they can look into this for you. Thanks for reaching out across the pond, Nick

Nick, Again, thanks for cheering us on, but the above advise is somewhat misleading. I also did not receive a manual when I picked up my i3-REX, and the dealer is either clueless, disinterested, or unable to remedy the situation. Or all of the above. Unfortunately, the last part also holds true for iConcierge/Genius organization. I just got off the phone with them, and they told me that iConcierge/Genius team can't order anything on their own. The only recommended course of action is to go and pound sand once again with the dealership. That course of action has proven to be an exercise in futility, as far as support for i-brand is concerned (they do know well and have been great about taking care of ICE cars). a

Are we talking about the grey and blue felt i3 owner's manual cover? Because my i3 actually came with one. So, they are out there, I guess it is just dealer dependent on whether or not they want to hand them out.

RT, on the first i3s sold, the manual cover wasn't yet available. As we're into the 2nd year of production, that should no longer be an issue...
Russel, it has been less than 10 days since you took delivery, you may have to wait a bit longer. :-) Us early adopters had to wait 3 - 6 months before anything was received.
Regards- Stuart
