Hi i3 Owners/BMW People. I'm in the process of trying to acquire an i3 from BMW of Minnetonka here in Minneapolis. One thing I'm not getting and they are not getting is the difference between a traditional lease, Owner's Choice, and Owner's Choice Flex.
From my understanding and reading of BMW documentation, Owner's Choice Flex is supposed to lower the monthly payment and money down for the car. Essentially, the balloon price would remain the same and BMW would front the 7500 you would get from the government and when I would return the i3 after the 2 year/20k loan period, I would give them the "flex" money back and the 350.00 for not taking on another BMW.
My dealership is clueless about this, BMWFS is closed, and so is BMWi Concierge. I refuse to go into finance without this information, because from what I've read Owner's Choice with Flex is the best way to go.
Any help would be appreciated. Why would my monthly payment go up with Owner's Choice Flex (in their system) over a traditional lease?
Well, up until about a week ago the Owners Choice allowed you to take the entire $7500 Federal tax credit vs around $5000 for the lease rebate so to get the best deal OC was the way to go. Now BMW is offering $7500 for the lease rebate so unless there is a state tax credit that requires you purchase there is no real advantage of one over the other.
