Your Professional nav system (NBT system?) uses the NEXT format.  I updated our 2014 BEV to 2018-1 NEXT in early December, 2017.  I was hoping for better navigation route suggestions but was disappointed with no improvement over the original 2014-? map version.  I have also noticed no map changes although there must be some.  Maybe in an area where many new roads are being built, the update would be more significant.

I'm happy that I didn't waste a considerable sum paying BMW for the update although it does bother me that I bought a lifetime FSC code that was almost certainly created using pirated BMW software.  I also downloaded copyrighted map data that was almost certainly posted without the copyright holder's permission.  Downloading this map data from a shady Website might have been a security risk.  Because I don't use Windows, I don't worry as much about malware, and nothing bad happened.  I don't want to promote such activity, but an Internet search would reveal several sources of FSC codes and map data.

You'll need a USB drive at least 32 GB in size.  I bought a 64 GB USB thumb drive because the 2018-1 map data is close to filling a 32 GB USB drive.  Future map updates could exceed the capacity of a 32 GB USB drive.
