I just bought a 2019 BEV. The dealer topped off the battery with one of the BMW branded chargers in the delivery area. While I didn’t note the exact numbers, it took about 3 hours to fully charge the battery from about 3/4 to full. This seemed longer than expected for a level 2 EVSE. I drove the car about 60 miles and used the OUC with the 120 V outlet in my garage. It’s been 8 hours and the battery % has only charged from 63% to 79%. I do plan on having a level 2 EVSE installed, but for now should I be concerned about the slow rate of charging? Doing some quick calculations, it seems that charging is taking twice as long as it should. My car is set to Maximum for both level 1 and level 2 charging. Temperatures here are currently in the 70s during the day and 50s at night, so this should be a comfortable range for the batteries. Thank you in advance.
